We had a great time at the SPBGMA 39th Annual Bluegrass Music Awards & 30th National Convention held at the Sheraton Hotel in Nashville, TN. Bruce loves to MC the contest while the kids spend their time jamming. If you’ve never been to this festival, you should make plans to attend next year or check out their other festivals scattered throughout the midwest.

We just left New York state, what a beautiful time of year to visit. The trees were brightly colored and the countryside was breath taking. We had a chance to visit Bruce’s old college roommate. He & his wife live in the Buffalo area. He took us to see Fort Niagra, which was a wonderful history lesson for us. We also visited Interlaken, where we sung in a church that was organized in 1819. The Building was built in the mid 1800s and was having some restoration done on it while we were there. We also went up to Croghan, which is the home of Croghan Bologna. Thanks to Margie for sharing your World famous bologna with us. Bruce always says “at our house its nothing special just bologna, but when company comes, we fry it!” Well, this was some special bologna!

We love to go to Mt Pleasant, IA for the Old Threshers Reunion. We were able to arrive early and jump in on the parade with the Wissmans. There is so much to see, hear, do, smell, and just take in at Old Threshers. we spent most of the week and all of the weekend there. Its always good to see the other groups that come to sing.
We are headed to Central City, Ia for the annual SPBGMA Bluegrass Music Festival and Fiddler’s Jamboree. We are looking forward to seeing some of our friends there and jamming. Check out their link below for more festival information throughout the year.
